Fun with Wax

The Show Room is open!

After months of prep and work, the show room is finally open! Come on by and visit us at 215 Caledonia Street in Sausalito.

Hours:

Tuesday/Wednesday --- by appointment

Thursday - Saturday  --- 12-6

Sunday/Monday  ---  shut

Fullosophie Wax Carving Workshop

I'm very excited to be hosting a workshop with Fullosophie at the new showroom space in Sausalito.  This will be a really fun way to spend a Sunday!  The class will include:

A studio tour

Brief explanation about wax carving as used in the jewelry making process

All materials and instructions to carve your own pendant in wax

Sarah will have your piece cast in sterling silver or brass

The chain of your choice

When complete, the finished necklace can be shipped to you, or picked up at the studio at your convenience.  You can even choose to add diamonds for just a small additional cost.

All this, plus 15% off anything in the showroom, champagne cocktails & freshly baked treats!

The workshop will be held Sunday June 22nd at 215 Caledonia Street in Sausalito, CA.

Showroom Opening Party

It's finally here!  It has been a crazy few months trying to balance filling my jewelry orders and opening the showroom.  What I thought would take me a month quickly morphed into a much bigger project than I had anticipated, but so life goes.  I'm very excited to put the finishing touches on the space and open the doors.  If you're in the Bay Area, please join us Saturday the 26th for the big reveal!

There have been countless life changes occurring lately in my world.  The one I'm most excited to share involves a personal & professional change of location.   I found myself longing to connect with nature again -- the very thing that inspires my work.   While I love Oakland from the bottom of my heart, I've learned that I truly am a wanderer and I thrive on change.  So here we are, after much radio silence, announcing that Sarah Swell jewelry will be opening a studio/showroom in Sausalito, CA!

I won't be announcing our opening day just yet as we furiously work to not only fill all of our jewelry orders, but also create a new space that you'll want to visit and never want to leave.

The year in jewelry

While catching up on year end accounting, I got just a little bit distracted and ended up sifting through images from 2013.  I thought I'd share my year in jewelry moments with you.  Here's to new adventures to come!

I celebrated one year of marriage and 10 years of togetherness with my love sweet love (yes, I had terrible jeweler nails on my wedding day-oops!)

Visiting China & Sri Lanka on a whirlwind 3 week trip.  One of my favorite moments was visiting this jewelry studio in the town of Galle, Sri Lanka.  Note the foot bellow for the air fed torch!

Yesterday was the final day of holiday jewel making in the studio!  We absolutely love getting our hands dirty creating in silver and gold, but this time of year is nonstop and a tad overwhelming for most small businesses.  I'm very excited to take the time between now and New Years to do what I love most: design new jewelry! *Sigh of relief*  I look forward to sharing as things come to fruition.

One new account that we're particularly excited about is Garde.  This LA based lifestyle boutique calls itself "modern natural," which is exactly the aesthetic that I try to breathe into my jewelry, and life for that matter.
