Ruina

A little glimpse at one of my new pieces, the Ruina Ring. This darling was inspired by Mayan ruins I saw on a recent trip to Mexico. It's available in sterling silver or gold with diamonds by special order. You can score yourself some at Esqueleto in Oakland.

New cuff bracelets! Cuffs are my favorite because they stay put on your wrist and whatever is suppose to be showing (the diamond, in this case) stays visible. The concrete cuff bracelet features clean lines and a slightly rough and rugged surface inspired by city streets. The matte silver and oxidized silver look oh-so-cool when layered. I've been wearing these daily-I cannot get enough! They will be showcased in the Marin Store's November catalog, but if you simply cannot wait until then, contact me and I'll see what I can do :)

shackled...

My shackle jewelry is often interpreted in different ways. Some people blush (no, no, they're not that kind of shackles) and some get an equestrian reference. Well, my inspiration for this collection was actually the shipping industry. Shackles are often used in the rigging systems of many types of boats. I loved how the "pin" that goes through the shackle allowed me to come up with creative ways to connect the shackle links.

Below is my newest piece in the collection, the Shackle Long Necklace. It's a bit funky and edgy and totally perfect for a plain white boyfriend tee.

pretty little necklaces all in a row...

One of my oldest and dearest friends got married recently, and as my gift I created these dainty little silver and diamond necklaces for all of the girlies in the wedding party. On the back of each is engraved "J+C" in reference to the bride and groom. They looked fantastic with our lovely floor-length dresses and pearl stud earrings & bracelets.

Do The Wave

I had a little polishing machine accident last week, day of the Indie Awards, and ended up in the ER making sure my hand was *only* bruised and battered rather than broken. Good news-no broken bones! Bad news-missed the Awards and haven't been able to make jewelry.

I'm hoping to get back into the studio this Wednesday and start working on my stack of orders that is piling up.

I had a dear old friend contact me and ask if I could resurrect this style to sell at a surf shop she merchandises. Yes, I said, of course. I recently sent Taylor of Sterling Style a selection of my Treasure Coin and Flotsam & Jetsam necklaces to sport on her amazing blog. Age Of Aquarius

I'm pleased to announce that 7X7 Magazine showcased my Fishbone Bracelet in the February issue Fashion Trend layout! I feel honored to be on the same page as jewelry superstars Kathy Kamei and Melissa Joy Manning.

Editor Jaclyn Binder hit the nail on the head when she wrote that my bracelet ".... looks just as stunning with a T-shirt and jeans as it does with a dramatic cocktail dress."

To me, that is the ultimate compliment. When I design, I try to find that magical compromise between beautifully crafted art and wearable jewelry. Great jewelry should and can transcend clothing choices, time of day, event, age, and even personal style. I'm happy that others see that in my creations.

I live 90% of my life in jeans, boots, and t-shirts. The other 10% warrants a bit more effort. Either way, I wear my jewelry proudly. It is part of me-always.
